1/10 izvrstnega kantavtorskega albuma Selivke prav tako izvrstnih Katarine Juvančič in Dejana Lapanje, ki je tik pred zdajci, da izide (in ki sem ga opremila z ilustracijami). Mene nema je zgodba o izbrisani mami dveh otrok in o njeni osem let in dva meseca trajajoči kalvariji.

An excellent album by an excellent singer-songwriter Katarina Juvančič and guitarist Dejan Lapanja will be published in coming days. This is one of ten women songs/stories from the album, about "erased" mother of two and her 8 years and 2 months long struggle.

Felinološka / A chapter from felinology

"Maček!" je po krajšem premisleku odgovorila prijateljica, ko me je zanimalo, kaj bi lahko bil motiv ilustracije, ki jo je želela podariti svoji prijateljici. Mačkonu dela družbo dekle, oba pa že nekaj časa družbo Petri. Menda se imajo prav luštno. 

"A cat!" was my friend's answer when I asked her about the motif of the illustration for her friend. A cat couldn't remain alone of course, and both of them have become Petra's company. They all live quite a pleasant life together, I've heard.

Keltskih konj topot / Hear the Horses of Celts

Skok nazaj: v februarju je izšel obsežen katalog arheološke razstave Tolminskega muzeja, ki jo je vzpodbudilo izjemno novoodkrito najdišče v Kobaridu, zakop konjev, skupaj z orožjem in drugimi predmeti keltskih konjenikov iz časa mlajše železne dobe, okoli leta 300 pr. n. št., časa zgodnejših pohodov Keltov proti staroselskim prebivalcem jugovzhodnoalpskega območja.
Pri katalogu sem sodelovala z ilustratorskim poskusom rekonstrukcije keltskega bojevnika z najdišča in z ilustracijo prihoda keltskih konjenikov v Kobarid.

Hear the Horses of Celts: The Bizjakova hiša Site in Kobarid: Exhibition Catalogue.

Back in time: in February, a catalogue was published for an archeological exhibition based on the unique find in Kobarid, a burial of Celtic horses together with weapons and other equipment and parts of costumes of Celtic cavalrymen from the 3rd century BC, from time of the earliest marches of the Celts against the local inhabitants of the southern Alpine valleys.

There are two my illustrations in the catalogue; the first is an illustrated proposition for a reconstruction of a Celtic warrior, based on the finds from Kobarid, the second is an illustration of Celtic cavalrymen coming to Kobarid.

Koščki / Bits and pieces

Iz ozadja v ospredje: tik pred izidom je debitantski album kantavtorice Katarine Juvančič, ki nam je v dvojcu s kitaristom Dejanom Lapanjo pripravila nekaj velikega, silnega in globoko utripajočega, kar nosi naslov Selivke. Deset uglasbljenih zgodb desetih žensk bo zadonelo z vso močjo! Zelo sem vesela in počaščena, da sem naslovnici albuma in vsaki pesmi na njem lahko pridala svojo ilustracijo.
Zaenkrat le nekaj drobnih ozadij in črkopisja, še malo, še malo, pa bomo zagledali tudi ospredje.

From the background to the foreground: a great singer-songwriter Katarina Juvančič's debut album will be out very soon. Together with a guitarist Dejan Lapanja, she has made something incredibly powerful when she decided to set music to her poems that speak ten real stories of ten women. I'm utterly pleased to be a part of it with my illustrations for the album's cover and for each of the songs.
Only some tiny pieces from the background and a handlettering today, but the foreground will be seen very soon, too.

Gozdnata, rahlo vodnata: začetek / Forests and lakes: the beginning

Igra s sončnimi (ku)lisami in senčnimi (pre)progami, z robovi in prehodi, z gozdnimi globinami in jezerskim šumenjem (tega še ni videti in slutiti, ampak je, tam globoko notri, (vedno), verjemite!): družim, slikam in pogovarjam se z novo zgodbo, ki je nekaj povsem drugega kot delo, ki sem ga pravkar zaključila. Avtorica tej zgodbi pravi "zgodbica", pa vendar se bo prelila čez nemalo strani in ravni.


Something new on my desk! It will take some time to work on these illustrations, but I'm excited. How wonderful it is to work on different projects. The illustrations here (will) belong to a new picture-book for children which will be something completely different than what I've just finished (and will be published soon, yay!).
